Common questions about turf materials, installation components, and how synthetic grass performs in the Pacific Northwest.
Yes. The Pet Series turf used here — Plush Pet and Summer Blend Pet — is built with antimicrobial fibers and UV color protection, and installations use a zeolite and sand infill blend rather than crumb rubber, which retains heat and breaks down under heavy pet use. There's nothing for a dog to dig up, no fertilizer or pesticide cycle, and no mud tracked back inside. The surface also gives ants, fleas, and ticks nowhere to nest.
Liquid doesn't sit on the surface — it drains straight through the perforated backing, through the zeolite-and-sand infill, and down through 4–6 inches of compacted angular gravel into the subgrade. The zeolite is the working part: it captures the ammonia that causes odor instead of letting it settle into the base. A periodic rinse keeps it performing, and heavy-use dog runs can be built with additional drainage designed from the start.
Day to day it's straightforward: pick up solid waste as you would on a real lawn, rinse the area periodically, and brush high-traffic paths to keep the blades standing. Rain does much of the rinsing here. For owners who'd rather not think about it, our Care Program covers scheduled cleaning, grooming, infill top-off, and inspection — worth it for multi-dog households and dedicated dog runs, where the same twenty square feet takes all the traffic.
Three things: the turf, the infill, and the drainage plan. Pet installations use antimicrobial Pet Series turf, a zeolite-blend infill instead of straight sand, and a base graded for the volume and concentration of liquid a dog area actually sees. Edge and perimeter detail is built tighter, too — secured borders keep determined diggers from lifting an edge. A consultation looks at yard layout, where your dogs actually run, and how the site drains before anything is specified.
Yes — pet-friendly turf, dedicated dog runs, and multi-use family yards are installed across Seattle, Bellevue, the Eastside, Snohomish County, and the greater Puget Sound region, plus commercial work for dog parks, boarding facilities, and veterinary clinics.
